Red Flag Warnings- When humidity is lower than normal and when wind is a factor, fire danger becomes an issue that firefighters take seriously. A Red Flag Warning means high fire danger and the possibility of a quick spreading fire in the area within 24 hours. Keep your home safe in these dangerous conditions by clearing 100 feet around your home. New Fire Station– Thanks to the voters passing Prop S, the JCFPD will be opening a new fire station in Julian to replace the old station on Farmer Road. Explorer Academy - The Julian Cuyamaca Fire Explorers will be having their annual academy June 15 - 18th. The academy will be held at Camp Winaka. This academy is designed for students to learn the rigorous requirements to become a firefighter. This academy will be attended by both new and current Explorers. |

Boot Drive - On Monday, May 26th, the Julian Cuyamaca Fire Explorers held their annual Memorial Day boot drive. This event funds the Explorer Academy which follows the next month. The kids hit the streets on a blustery day and got a great response. The community donated over $1500 toward the next academy which pays for food, t-shirts, hats, and other necessities for the academy. |
